Biography

Prof. Swaran Singh is Professor of Diplomacy and Disarmament at the Centre for International Politics, Organisation and Disarmament (CIPOD), School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Over three decades of research and teaching, he has worked on China's foreign and security policies, India-China relations, Indo-Pacific strategy, maritime security, arms control and disarmament, and India's foreign policy.

He has authored or co-edited more than ten books, contributed dozens of book chapters and journal articles, and delivered hundreds of lectures across India and abroad. He has supervised over twenty PhDs and remains an active public intellectual, contributing regularly to print and broadcast media on international affairs.

Prof. Singh is currently President of the Association of Asia Scholars and General Secretary of the Indian Congress of Asian and Pacific Studies (ICAPS). He serves on the editorial boards of several international journals and holds guest professorships at institutions including UPEACE (Costa Rica), Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (China), and the University of British Columbia (Canada).
